For me, tattooing is not just a service, but an opportunity to be inspired, listen to new stories, and immerse myself in silent concentration. The way I create demands your complete trust – you become my living canvas, and I value that immensely.
That was the first assignment I ever received. It was 2017. My sister and I were locked in our former childhood room, I didn't know which needle was used for what, and the most sterile thing was probably the sweets placed next to the ink caps.
Today, I have an exemplary professional studio setup, I am much more confident in my needle selection, and you are no longer allowed to crumble sweets into my inks. However, the need to get to know my clients before tattooing has remained.
How our collaboration will look step by step.
You start looking at your friends' tattoos, you start following various tattoo artists on social media. Maybe you get a recommendation from someone, or you input your ideas into AI. Finally, you decide on me. Our journey together can begin.
Please do this preferably via email ink@helenah.cz. You can also use Instagram, but I'll still ask for your email. Because without it, I can't be sure I won't lose your contact and that I'll be able to write to you if anything changes.
Don't switch off! It sounds more complicated than it actually is. Once you write to me, I'll add you to the waiting list of people who want a tattoo from me. And once there are enough of you, I'll schedule a tattooing weekend and let you know.
You'll receive an email with the date of the weekend I'll be in the studio. If it suits you, you'll confirm your attendance. If not, I'll move you to the next wave of dates and write to you again in a month or two.
By sending me a non-refundable deposit of 1200 CZK. If you don't manage to do it within three days, I will release your spot to the next person in line.
If you wish, you can start hydrating the skin on the tattooed area three weeks in advance to make it as supple as possible.
The day before your appointment, avoid alcohol (or other similar "pleasure enhancers") and ideally also caffeine. These substances can increase blood pressure, which could lead to more bleeding during the tattoo.
Get as much rest as conditions allow, and eat well before the session; feel free to bring some quick sugars with you.
You'll arrive in Letná; the exact address and my phone number are in your email. You'll give me a call, and I'll pick you up at the door. We'll go down the stairs to the basement, but don't worry, our studio has two normal windows and natural light. We'll sit together in armchairs and just chat for a while.
I'll pour you water or tea, maybe there will be some cookies too. During our conversation, I'll tune into you. It's not about anything esoteric, I'm just catching your rhythm, getting an idea of your taste, giving you space to express what shouldn't be missing from our shared artwork.
Then comes the design phase. I'll disinfect the area, shave it if necessary, and start drawing on you with a marker or brush. Or we'll start looking for the right placement for natural imprints or a chosen freehand motif.
This is extremely important - you have every right to say NO to anything. It's too big, it's too small, it's too crooked, it's too straight... Tell me everything that doesn't feel right about my design. Sometimes we find the right form on the first try, sometimes I erase the design ten times, both are fine. Don't be afraid to speak up. It's your body and your tattoo. Of course, I will give you feedback on composition and size, but the final word is yours.
And then we just tattoo. Usually, some music is playing, and we chat, but we can also be in silence. If it's a larger piece, we'll take breaks. To drink, eat a snack, or I, for example, need to pee quite often :D.
At the end, I'll treat your tattoo and wrap it in protective film. I'll also tell you how to care for it, but because I know how out of it a person can be at this moment, I'll also give you a leaflet with instructions.
Don't plan anything active for this day. You'll remove the protective film after about 4 hours, unless I tell you otherwise. Let your body rest properly today and tomorrow. Reward yourself with good food. Keep the tattooed area clean. It is an open wound at this moment.
As for care, I recommend simplicity. Antibacterial soap and shea butter. You can buy these two things on your way at any drugstore.
Because that's my tip. Thanks to it, I know it healed well and brings joy. And thanks to those photos, I then have proof that my tattoos last on people, that they don't peel, lose their outlines or color.

I tattoo in waves. I don't have appointments throughout the entire month, but once my waiting list is full, I'll suddenly schedule an entire weekend.
What does this mean for you? You'll send me an email or an Instagram message, we'll discuss your tattoo ideas, and I'll add you to the waiting list. Once there are ten people on the list, I'll send you a date for a selected weekend 4-6 weeks in advance, for which you can then definitively book. If the date doesn't suit you, I'll move you to the next wave.
